It’s Father’s Day this Sunday, June 16, and what better way to celebrate your old man—or yourself, if you’re a dad too!—than by being with family back home in the Philippines? Whether you’re already here or planning a surprise trip back to the motherland this month, KUBO has several ideas that will help you plan where to take Tatay, Dad, Daddy, or Papa on Father’s Day.

From playtime or staycation around Metro Manila to cruising in Iloilo, we’ve listed some ideas that will make this Philippine visit and Father’s Day very special for you and ‘Tay!

Playtime with Daddy

If you’re a dad who’d like to take your little kids out to some father-and-child playtime, or treat your own dad to some bonding with his apos, join the Daddylympics and other Father’s Day activities at PLAY at Okada Manila on June 15 and 16, available during the following PLAY sessions: 10a.m. to noon, 12:30p.m. to 2:30p.m., 3p.m. to 5p.m., 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m., and 8p.m. to 10p.m.

Activities include Arts & Crafts, where you’ll make a DIY keychain and Father’s Day tie card; and Daddylympics, the ultimate Dad & Kid Challenge. There will be a Photobooth Station, with each family getting one Instax photoprint; and a Dad’s Lounge for dads and lolos who need to rest.

A Child Pass (PHP588 nett for kids 1-17 y/o) and Adult Pass (PHP288 nett for 18 and up) gives you two-hour PLAY access, including Father’s Day activities. Tickets can be purchased at the PLAY counter or just email [email protected]. PLAY is located at the Coral Wing of Okada Manila, Entertainment City, New Seaside Drive, Parañaque.

Pampering Papa

Show your love and appreciation to the man of the house by giving the gift of relaxation. Father’s Day is the perfect excuse to treat Dad to a spa getaway, especially to cool and relaxing Tagaytay. Check out Twin Lakes Hotel‘s special June spa package, available from now until June 30, in case he doesn’t feel like going right on Father’s Day. It includes L’Uva Deep Tissue Massage, a 90-minute signature treatment perfect for easing chronic aches and realigning muscles, tailored for hardworking and active dads; as well as a 30-minute facial for a truly rejuvenating experience. Rates start at PHP2,900 nett for one. A 30% discount can be extended to the additional person. To book, contact +63917-8537463.

If Dad doesn’t want to leave Metro Manila, you can instead treat him to Okada Manila’s The Retreat Spa Father’s Day Special, which includes a signature 90-minute treatment (PHP4,800 nett) featuring a 45-minute haircut and styling and his choice between a 45-minute Yasashi Foot Spa or Hommage Express Facial with head, neck, and shoulder massage. The package is available daily from now until June 30, so you have more time to make an appointment (required) by emailing [email protected] or texting +63917-8753724.

Bond over music with Dad

Why not go on a quick road trip with Dad to Tagaytay? You may want to attend Twin Lakes Hotel’s “Brews & Beatles,” a Pre-Father’s Day Bash on June 15, 7PM, at the hotel lobby, where they’ll be playing timeless tunes from the ’60s to ’80s, so you can groove with Dad while enjoying drinks from event sponsors Emperador and San Miguel. To make sure you don’t drink and drive after, just book a room with a fantastic view of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano at Twin Lakes Hotel by emailing [email protected]. Twin Lakes Hotel is located along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Laurel, Batangas.

If you and your Tatay prefer to celebrate Father’s Day in Metro Manila by rocking out to the music of OPM band Parokya Ni Edgar sometime until June 23, you should grab tickets to Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya Ni Edgar Musical at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, which features music from the iconic rock band. Parokya Ni Edgar may not have been around when your dad was young, but the boys have released so many albums and conquered the airwaves with their zany brand of music that your dad is probably familiar with at least two or three of their songs. Tickets are available at Ticketnet.

Newport World Resorts in Pasay, where the theater is located, currently has a Watch & Dine Promo that bundles a PHP1,000 dining voucher and two tickets to the musical. Call +632-79088000 to reserve or inquire.
