GOLpH Cup Association hosts the 6th Annual Battle of the Alma Mater (BOAM) Charity Golf Tournament

Nearly 288 Filipino-American Golfers Unite in California to Support Nursing Scholars in the Philippines

Beaumont, California — October 25, 2025 — The Filipino-American community came together in full force at the 6th Annual Battle of the Alma Mater (BOAM) Charity Golf Tournament, held at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, California. Organized by the GOLpH Cup Association (GCA) in support of Wishery.org, a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the event gathered nearly 288 golfers across 36 holes for a day filled with friendly competition, unity, and meaningful philanthropy.

BOAM, now on its sixth year, continues to be one of the largest community-driven Filipino-American golf charity events in the region. Proceeds from the tournament directly benefit Wishery.org’s Nursing Scholarship Program, which provides tuition assistance, living stipends, and mentorship to aspiring nursing students in the Philippines—many of whom come from underserved communities.

Founded by Dexter De Vera, Al Justin Pintor, and Dojie Hipolito, Wishery.org focuses on empowering Filipino youth through education, with nursing scholarships as its flagship initiative. This year’s tournament further strengthened that mission, with participants representing various alma maters, organizations, and golf clubs throughout California and neighboring states.

“The heart of BOAM has always been community,” said Wishery.org co-founder Dexter De Vera. “Seeing nearly 300 golfers come together not just to play, but to make a real difference for students in the Philippines, is incredibly inspiring.”

The event featured a shotgun start across two courses, special skill competitions, raffle prizes, and a post-tournament awards banquet. Supporters, sponsors, and volunteers contributed to another successful year that exceeded fundraising expectations and expanded the organization’s scholarship capacity for 2026.

“The continued support we receive shows how much people believe in the power of education,” said co-founder Al Justin Pintor. “Every swing on the course translates into opportunities for our scholars.”

Wishery.org is already preparing for next year’s tournament, with plans to expand participation and introduce new community-driven initiatives.
