Filipinos in the USA may want to make their way to the East Coast on the weekend of August 17-18, 2024, as Fiesta In America, the longest-running trade and multi-cultural event in the United States East Coast, will be happening that time in New Jersey. As in the past couple of years, Fiesta In America 2024 will be held at American Dream, the second largest retail and entertainment center in the US, along East Rutherford, NJ.

Fiesta In America is the biggest indoor trade and culture exposition mounted by a Filipino group yearly for the past 27 years. Fernando Mendez, president and founder of Fiesta in America, says over 10,000 Filipino-Americans and around 50,000 additional mall visitors traditionally attend this event.

Fiesta In America is supported by hundreds of brands from the Philippines, the US, and other countries, who are all eager to tap into the lucrative Filipino-American market in the New York-New Jersey area. Mendez believes that among the Fiesta’s greatest achievements is its ability to put together people from all walks of life in celebrating our cultural heritage as well as forging economic ties. The Fiesta’s longevity speaks volumes about its sustainability and relevance to the Fil-American community in the United States and elsewhere.

Among the confirmed sponsors and exhibitors this year are the local government units (LGUs) of Siargao Island in the province of Surigao del Norte (partnered with Siargao Bleu Resort & Spa), The City of Mati in Davao Oriental, Angeles City, and Zamboanga City; The Manor at Camp John Hay Baguio; Inabel Shop; Remitly; Ayala Land; Kulture KO; Rockwell Land; Paddle for the Cure; Blank Collectibles; AARP New Jersey; Pomelo; KPOP NARA; Saladmaster; IKEA; Metro Manila Film Festival; and more. KUBO will be there too, so please drop by our booth, we can’t wait to meet you!

If you happen to be interested to also showcase your own brand, Fiesta In America announced that slots are still open for more Philippine business operators and LGUs who may want to take advantage of the many opportunities awaiting them in the wide American market. “If you’re thinking of capitalizing on the growing Philippine market and the strong household income of Filipinos in the United States, this is the event to go to,” said Mendez.

“Stewarding Fiesta in America is my little way of promoting our culture, our products, our talent, and the beauty of the Philippines,” said Mendez. “Our mission has always been to connect Filipino entrepreneurs with mainstream business and Fil-Am consumers through a festival that highlights immigrant-centered services, Filipino products, heritage, and talent,” he added.

Activities for all ages, trade exhibits, business opportunities, concerts, entertainment, and networking are among the biggest attractions at the Fiesta.

Experience an unforgettable two days of entertainment on August 17 and 18, from a stunning fashion show to the soulful sounds of acoustic folk, energetic K-Pop dance, heartfelt ballads, lively showbands, captivating tribute bands, and mesmerizing traditional and line dances—there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Headlining more than 25 performers you can look forward to watching live at the event are American Idol 2012 Runner-Up Jessica Sanchez, as she makes a big comeback with a new look and new album on Aug 17 & 18, Court A, American Dream. Fashion Week and Miss Universe fashion designer Carl Andrada will also showcase his modern take on Filipino traditional costumes that weekend.

Also performing are Shane Ericks, Grand Champion of Global Pinoy Idol; and Bryan Termulo, Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs.

A week prior to its opening, on August 11, a People’s Ball will be mounted at Marriott Newark International Airport Hotel in New Jersey. Chaired by Mendez’s love partner, Laura Garcia, the highly anticipated annual event comes with a special buffet dinner, live performances, ballroom dancing, and Empowerment awards recognizing outstanding Filipino-Americans in the United States.

Traditionally, the gala is attended by influential leaders, movers, and shakers in the Fil-Am community in the US East Coast.

Fiesta in America was founded in 1996 by Fernando Mendez and his late wife, Mila, who passed in 2012. It was their vision to promote the Philippines not just as a travel destination but more importantly, as a global business partner.
